How do I string together multiple video files into one video?

I would like to know how I can take a bunch of videos I took and put them into one continuous video (YouTube friendly). Is there any free programs? Also, how could I add music to the background?

  1. Are you using Windows or Mac?  If you have Windows XP, your computer probably came with Windows Movie Maker, which is about as easy (and free) as it gets.

And what format are your native files in?  WMM does not support QuickTime movies, so if your camera or phone takes QT by default, you will have to get a program like Replay Converter to convert the video formats before you can string them together.

You can also add music and titles, if you want.  YouTube friendly too.  Let me know if you have any additional questions (I have taught my 8 year old to use WMM for her YouTube videos, so it's a piece of cake!)
