The main one you want to worry about or that will probably bring you the majority of your traffic is Google. If you have a blog, submit to http://blogsearch.google.com/ping and if you're so inclined, use pinging and social bookmarking.

You can find a great list of social bookmarking sites at www.socialmarker.com or www.socialposter.com that will help  you generate backlinks to your site (for rankings). You can also "ping" sites with your updated pages at www.pingoat.com or www.pingomatic.com

You should probably do some keyword research as well to find out what types of keywords you're trying to get ranked for. There are several options in order to get submitted to search engine every search engine page will have a link for you to submit your url or you can use several services that cost money but will do the submissions for you. But I would say the cheapest and most effective way is to promote your site as much as possible like using link echanges(this will link you to other pages that are already high in the rankings).
