Question:

How do I support, comfort or help my fiance thru this difficult time?

He just started paying child support, but apparently it was too late and now the US is taking the money out of his check (which doesn't leave him with enough money to pay bills and get groceries...barely enough for rent)...

I think we should move to another apartment that is still nice but still in our budget, it's just temporary anyway ya know.

sometimes he comes home sad, frustrated and mad, (regrets he didnt break it off with the ex wife BEFORE they got married)..he gets to see his son when the ex is acting right...

is there anything "really" that I can do? I help out with his other son that he as custody of but still shaky on the "parenting" thing because I have none.

no rude comments, any suggestions? oh and they've been divorced for 2 and a half years so the kids are use to the separate thing.

  1. I hope he's smart enough to be getting support for the one he has custody of.

all you can do really, is help him budget. Cut out things you guys don't need, and yes, move to a cheaper place if possible.

You can also help him network for a better job.

  2. Encourage him (or yourself if you "really" want to help) to get another job or a promotion. If we need more money we go out and make more money. I know it will be hard but it will help you in the long run and the second job will not be forever. I hope all goes well!
