I have a Boom Mic Stand for my microphone on the PC. I also have a foam windscreen and a pop filter in front of the mic. So 90% of the time when I sing or speak, it's crystal clear..But when ever a cord or something hits the mic stand, it makes LOUD noises..any ideas on how to suppress those types of noises? ANY ideas for getting rid of unwanted background noises or any audio tips are well appreciated. :) THANKSSSS

  1. I have found that different sound cards perform much differently than others for microphone volume and qulaity.  I've had expensive cards that performed poorly with a mic and cheap on-board cards that did well with a mic.

Your mic sounds like the problem.  The only thing you can do is keep from hitting the mic with other things.  And keep other cords away from it to reduce electrical interference.

Even the best software, such as Sony Sound Forge or Acid can;t do much of anything to help your problem.

  2. Install a best noise killer
