How do I survive a Roller Coaster?

I love riding roller coasters, however I always feel like I can't breathe, especially during those initial drops, I can't explain exactly what it feels like, but I am looking for some tips on how to not feel like I am going to pass out. I think holding my breath isn't a good idea, and I normally I try panting, or breathing like you would while giving birth (as odd as it sounds) and normally it works, but not always. Any suggestions on how to breathe?

  1. Roller coasters are supposed to make you feel that way. My answer would be to just suck it up, because it only lasts under 10 seconds.

  2. I once felt like this all you have to do is just breath through your nose and just scream it can probably calm you and you can actually breath easier and just enjoy yourself

  3. inhale in by your nose and exhale through your mouth. if this is like your first thrill ride then i do not suggest you to put your hands up. you should scream because if you don't you start feeling that you didn't enjoy it. I hope you put this as best answer. thanks! I also agree with John Boy here. you have to know when to take dep breaths

  4. well breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

this will make you more calm

or scream if your with friends

i mean its like 20 seconds out of your life and like 3 of it is going down a drop

    so its not too bad

    sooo good luck :]

  5. put your hands up and scream

  6. It may sound silly, but breathing on a roller coaster in a certain way will make the experience more enjoyable. Whatever roller coaster you are going on, you need to know when to take deep breaths. For example, a wooden roller coaster may have loads of dips and hills. Take a nice deep breath when at the top of the hill and breathe out as you are coming down. I like to call it "breathing before the elements." The same goes for loops etc. Take a nice deep breath before every inversion and you will come off the coaster feeling a lot more happy than you must have been feeling.

  7. Scream your heart out. Screaming helps all of my friends whenever we all go on a roller coaster.

I suggest NOT going on intenser roller coasters.
