  1. With the latest version of classic yahoo mail you cannot switch back see the link for more info.

  2. You can't.  They shut down the old (better!) My Yahoo effective July 14th.

  3. yahoo have changed everyone to their new home page by stealth, your old home page is now not recognised by the server so your wasting your time trying to get it back again, it like a new marriage, we are stuck with it for better or worse

  4. Yahoo died yesterday.  It's gone.  This is the new Microsoft Yahoo that shoves things down your throat that you don't want.  We must now all move to Google.

How silly we were to believe that "My Yahoo" meant it was ours.

    It's "Their Yahoo".

And they can play with their Yahoos all by themselves now, because I'm off to Google too.

When Ford sells you a car, they don't take away your old car, if you want to keep it. Why does Yahoo shove this new c**p down our throats, and not let us have the option of keeping the old one, if we were happy with that?

Yahoo is over. They are too busy fighting off Microsoft and Carl Ichan now to care if we all leave for Google.

Just keep your word. Let's all leave. Yahoo wont be surviving in it's present form anyway. Soon it will be a Microsoft subsidiary.

  5. The old Yahoo is gone.

These guys are no better at knowing what their customers want than Microsoft is. I hope the buyout is successful..They deserve each other.

  6. They "updated" you, and your original page is gone.

This is like when Coca-Cola tried to force "new" Coke on everyone, even though it was inferior.

Go to the following page and register your disgust:

  7. yahoo is simply uncooperative. all you can do is hit them where they live; maybe they'll get the idea.

here is a place where you can get a hosts file replacement and painless installer which will prevent the download and appearance of yahoo (and many others') advertising:

please tell your friends, and help many newbies.

in the end, i honestly hope that yahoo comes to it's senses, but in lieu of that, i suppose that it should be more humane to hasten their consumption by microsoft. . .

  8. I read on Yahoo Blog that they are retiring Yahoo classic as of 14 July 2008.

    "Retiring the Original My Yahoo!

In addition, we want to let you know that on July 14th we will be retiring the original My Yahoo! and moving everyone into the new version. At that point, access to the original My Yahoo! will no longer be enabled. The new version of My Yahoo! was built for you and similar to our recent advertising change, we will remain committed to improving the product based on your feedback."
