How do I sync my ipod nano and itunes on my new computer?

I already have a bunch of songs on my ipod, but now itunes wants to sync and says it will delete everything on the ipod rather than downloading the songs to my computer. What do I do? I'd like to keep the songs I already have & have the ability to add more in the future.

  1. When you plug in your ipod its going to open your itunes and sync to it. If you don't want to download anything immediately either click the x once it starts syncing or deselect everything for download

If you want to keep the songs on your ipod just add them to your current itunes

  2. iTunes will never upload anything from your iPod. and apple does not allow it also that is to avoid file sharing of from any users.

if you like to do it at your own risk, get a third party program like iDump, iPod Virtual, etc. there are lots available for free. just hit it on your search engine.

  3. connect your i pod to your computer. Do not sync and ignore the symbol that pops up. go to start, then choose computer, then choose  the i pod symbol and open. and on search put the letter m, and all your songs will pop up they will have weird letters like qszl Obviosly they won't make sense. Anyway copy all of them save on to your computer. (music files is fine.) then go to apple.com (or here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ )and download i tunes library. add the songs you saved to this file and sync your i pod to this library. You will have to rename your songs, but at least you won't lose them. And now you will be able to add new songs or whatever. if you have any trouble send me a message.

That's weird. You should have been able to get all your songs. When you put m in search box that is for all your mp3 files. Did you scroll down? You were only talking about your mp3 files, Right?
