How do I take apart a glass fountain I glued together?

I used aquarium sealant so I could remove the fountain from the base if the pump fell down. Of course, the kitties knocked the pump down there, but when I tried to peel the sealant off, I realized I had pretty much 'set' the fountain on top of the glue. How can I remove it now, without damaging the paint?

  1. Im having trouble trying to picture your setup.  Ive had fish tanks for a long time.  Whenever you have something glued to something else 9 times out of 10 if you apply heat it breaks the bond.

I dont know what setup you have and if you can use a flame, but if you do apply slow heat.  Dont heat up fast to reduce black marks.

If that doesnt do it.  You can use a sharp utility knife and score the adhesive deeper and deeper wigging the objects free.

If thats not it msg me and explain a little better so i know your dilema.
