How do I take care of a bamboo plant?

I bought a small bamboo plant for the living room coffee table...and I'm not quiet sure how often I'm supposed to water it and how much water I'm supposed to put in. It is standing in a little glass square full of white little rocks. there arn't any holes at the bottom of the glass for the water to escape. Is that okay? Thanks..I've never taken care of one before...and was wondering if it has special needs like cactus's (I mean cacti) or something. Thanks in advance!

  1. I have several of these and they are doing great. They can stand in water, keep water in the container and dont worry they will be fine. Feed them a few drops of liquid bamboo fertilizer once a week. I dont have them in direct light and they are fine and very green. Goodluck.

  2. No special needs at all. just be sure it has water..my cousin grows them in her house. and she barely waters them. Great for the one who doesn't have a green thumb!
