  1. Hi,

You can vaccinate your rabbit if you want, its completely up to you. I strongly recommend to vaccinate if your cage doesn't have mosquito protection wire on the outside. This protects the rabbit from getting diseases associated with mosquitoes (myxomatosis and calicivirus) Rabbits have to have unlimited pellets and hay, a good rule is one cup of pellets a day for an average sized rabbit. The hay is put in the sleeping area(which should be closed off for a place to hide) and made sure it is not wet or soiled as the rabbit wont eat it and wont get the necessary fibre it needs for a healthy digestive system. A generous handful of hay should always be there for the rabbit if needed. I don't recommend going away for a couple of days leaving your rabbit unattended as you couldn't tell if your rabbit is sick or in need of food or water. My rabbits drink a lot of water a day so you wouldn't be able to replace it as needed if you were away. I also suggest giving your rabbit water out of a ceramic bowl as I find that water bottles tend to constantly drip and the ball bearing becomes jammed and leaves your rabbit thirsty. You can also feed your rabbits fresh vegetables and apples, but not cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower or brussel sprouts, they can get enteritis and possibly die. Never feed them meat bread or cakes. As for the pregnancy thing I wouldn't know. In Summer provide the rabbit with a frozen water bottle as the rabbit wont perspire and die from overheating. Get your bunny a friend to prevent boredom but dont forget to spay or neuter them BOTH. There are many helpful websites you can go to for  more information.

    Hope this helped,

    Elise

  2. No, rabbits do not need vaccines unless you are in the UK?

There is care info here http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/r...

I would have someone check on the rabbit while you are away.

  3. You should definately get her vacinated, no question about it. You can go out for a couple of days however you cant just leave extra food, as she will probably eat it all in one day and run out of water. I suggest if  your going out for a few days and only a few days that you ask someone to care for her and if you cant find anyone to take her into their home that they at least pop over to yours daily to see that she is fed and has water. And with regards to cleaning her age that all depends on how you feel, if she has a litter tray you should ask a friend help empty it twice a week. other wise rabbits are pretty clean and the rest can be brushed out and picked out easily. hope this helps

  4. For all the information you need go to   www.rabbit.org

  5. Yes on the shots and all. But they can live without.

And while you "can" leave the rabbit alone for a couple of days its not a good idea. Many people will watch them for a couple days cause they are just plain adorable.

As to what it can eat, thats a toughy. Rabbits need a unlimited supply of hay and water ( the hay should be alfalfa for under a year old, and timothy for over a year old )and while a rabbit "can" live off that and pellets. It's not really a good idea. I spice it up with veggies, celery, cilantro and parsely. My rabbit just LOVES theese and you can hand feed them to your rabbit for some fun bonding time.

As to the cleaning of the cage, I have no clue. Rabbit dropping are harmless, and the urine im sure is no big deal. Cleaning the cage shouldn't be a problem if your pregnant, you can just wash it out.

  6. Yes it needs vaccines, the country you live in and whereabouts in the country will depend on what vaccinations you need and how often, so contact your vet who will be able to tell you more.

You cannot leave a rabbit alone for a couple of days, they need at least eight hours exercise every day, and fresh food, water, veg and hay every day.

Rabbits eat good quality hay, fresh veg (carrots, brocolli, cabbage, etc) NOT lettuce tomato or cucumber as they are too watery and will cause diarrhoea. They also need a bowl of rabbit pellets every day.

Yes you can clean its cage if you are pregnant, just wear gloves and wash afterwards.
