How do I take care of my baby sparrow?

This little sparrow is young & the only reason why I can tell is because it has a furry head & it can move around a lot but it is too young to fly. The cat knocked the nest out of a tree & killed its mother & another chick so I can't leave it outside. I have it in a large shoe box upstairs in a room & the box has a bunch of grass & leaves & stuff in it. I am able to feed it water through a straw & it is eating worms. The poor thing has a bubble under its neck & another 1 right above its wing & they look almost like a human blister.... but then again I know NOTHING about birds, so I don't know if this is a bad sign or not. Just hoping somebody might be able to help me out with this!!!

  1. The best thing to do is take it to a wildlife rehabilitater. I had one about a month ago and I did everything. I did research on it and did everything it said and it still died. They are so hard to take care of. I know for sure that you shouldn't give it water. The website that I read said to use dry dog food and soak it in water till it swells and feed them that. If it will eat worms then thats better for it. The first thing I would do is check it for bugs. The one I had had bugs all over it. I took it to work, I work at an animal hospital, and the vet put ivermectin on it. The bugs went away after a day but they said that they will infest your house if your not careful. Put a white papertowel underneath the bird and watch. They are very tiny bugs so you have to look close. Trust me don't get attached they are hard to keep alive. Call the animal shelter and see if they have a number you can call for wild life.
