How do I take care of "Guitar Fingers"? (where the tips get red.)?

Well I got my guitar a year ago for my birthday and I would play a little ere and there. But the only "songs" I would play were happy birthday and mary had a little lamb. So my fingers would not get red. Well I picked it back up three days ago and I'm learning "our song" by Taylor swift. I'm playing it a lot and I'm almost finished with the song so as you can guess, my fingers are SORE. I know they are supposed to be but is there anything you can do to make sure that the strings don't get caught in the blisters (that I here are supposed to form) or to help the pain? Thanks!

  1. yr fingers should harden the more u practice, not awfully though, just put up with it 4 a while and then things should start being ok...keep it up

  2. over time your finger tips will develop caluses.  its good. its just a harder finger tip, not visible different.  play it regularly, multiple times a week and you will develop them.  your playing will improve.  i love the guitar, i just haven't played in awhile but now i'm getting back into it.  i'm going to make it routine again.
