Are there auto feeders that work for kittens this young? I can't be up all night with them and I work from home and can't sit with them all day. What's the best thing to do?

  1. No, you are their autofeeder now. If you can go to the pet store or a 24 hr walmart and look for kitten milk replacement and a bottle. Follow the directions and start bottle feeding them.

Bottle feed them every 2-3 hours. Never miss a feeding either. After 1-2 weeks you can introduce wet food, but gradually.

Do this for as long as you can until you can find a vet or a local animal shelter that is willing to take care of them. Usually, with humane societies, they won't bother taking care of them and will generally euthanize them.

    Good luck!

  2. Take them to the vet and ask them. They'll tell you everything you need to know.

  3. shelter.

they should only need to be bottle fed every 4 hours at this age, but you still have to help them go to the bathroom.

in another week or two they will be walking, starting to eat solid food, and going to the bathroom on their own, if that helps.

  4. Kittens that are that young only eat and sleep.  Just wake them up every 3-4 hours and feed them Kitten Milk Replacer from a small bottle.

If you feel like you don't have time for them, then take them to a shelter. They'll make sure that they get taken care of.  I rescued a 3 week old kitten and am so glad that I decided to take her. I'm a full-time student and I work, but it still seemed like I had enough hours in my day for her. If you do decide to keep them, here are some of my suggestions:

-Since they are so young, they can't keep themselves warm. Lay a towel down in a box and place a heating pad under it... on low. That will keep the kittens from getting too cold.

-Like I said earlier, feed the kittens ever 3-4 hours with Kitten Milk Replacer from a little bottle. Make sure you burp the kitten as you would a baby!! As the kittens get older, they will start eating at larger time intervals. You can get the KMR and bottle from Walmart for very cheap!!

-Kittens learn so many things from their mothers. The mothers teach them how to use the bathroom. So, after meals, you would need to stimulate their anal/genital region with a warm wet wash cloth until it urinates and defecates.  They kittens won't defecate everyday because they're only eating liquids. They should about every 2-3 days.

-My 3 week old kitten already uses her litterbox, so I would suggest getting a small box (I use a shoebox lid) and put some litter in it.  When you get done feeding them, immediately put them in the box and show them how to dig with their paws. Cats pick this up almost instictively and it'll only take a few times for you to show them.

i think that's about it... I'm sure that you can go to the vet and they'll answer any of the questions that I haven't said anything about. Also, alot of times, you could try the local Animal Shelter/Humane Society to see if they have a mother cat that's lactating so that the kittens can still get the supplements that are in the mothers milk.

    Hope I helped!

Good luck with your new babies!

    It's worth keeping them.

  5. Talk to your vet. They can tell you what and how often to feed. I am afraid you will be getting up at night for at least a couple more weeks until they can start eating softened solid food. There aren't auto feeders for kittens so young, you are the "auto feeder" right now.

  6. well you can find speacil formula for cats at the pet store and feed them that till they are 6 weeks and i think they should be fine with that but if you want you can take them to the vet and ask what would be the best way to keep them alive so they don't die or take a risk and trie cat formula

  7. you need to hand fee them with droppers   with mothers replacement  milk  I did that and in a week or so buy baby rice cereal and mix it in IT help fills them up!   I have also heard about having another cat  being able to nurse them    good luck!  yes definatly make sure they go to the bathroom    take a warm cotton ball and rub in on their bottom to provoke it    soon they will be doing it on their own!

  8. Keep them warm and feed them every two hours or so with goats milk it's the closest thing that i know of to breast milk.

  9. buy kittens milk on a pet store
