  1. Do some market research, get some samples, people on streets asking people questions about if they would use it etc.

Once you have information that a large majority of people DO want the product you can write letters to the head offices for the supermarkets. Failing this, you could go into your local store, ask for the manager, bringing your product and all the information about it, incase they want to know a bit about it, and ask them how to get the product into the store.

  2. Large supermarket like the one you've mentioned don't deal with individuals, they deal with catering companies and large suppliers, you best bit is to get in touch with one or two of those suppliers dealing like with Asdas, have a meeting with them, talk about your products try to sell it to them, then if they are happy with it they will take from you and distribute it to the large supermarket then.

  3. Before that you should test your product (i.e. give some free samples away).

Do some market research also - how competitive is the market for the foodstuff you are trying to sell?

You really need to sell your food in large quantities via a distributor if you want to sell to large supermarkets. Before that, try selling batches to smaller shops, sandwich outlets etc.

    Good Luck
