How do I take pictures off my digital canon on my new windows vista?

I have a canon 300d and usually whenever something happens to my computer I go online and find a driver, and install it and I can upload my pictures from it. I now have windows vista, and the website says it doesn't have a driver for my operating system. Does anyone know how I can get my pictures off of my camera on windows vista?

  1. I also own a canon digital rebel (300D), and just got a computer with vista.

You may want to just try plugging in the camera and seeing if the computer recognizes it.

Otherwise, get yourself a CF card reader (I have one that reads several types, which has come in quite handy on more than one occasion).  Pull the card out of the camera, pop it in the reader, plug it into the computer, and it should automatically pull up options for viewing/transferring the files on the card.

As an added bonus, you'll also save the battery on your camera, because it does not need to be on while you're uploading to the computer.
