How do I talk to my husband about trying for a baby?

My husband and I have been together for 5 1/2 years, married for almost 4. We are 27 and 28, are pretty financially secure, have a good-sized home and are secure in our relationship.

Problem is, although we've had small conversations about starting a family in the past, it actually turns my stomach to have "the conversation" about starting a family soon. He loves children, and definately wants to be a dad, yet I can't bring myself to initiate the conversation.

I would like him to bring it up- I want him to be excited and look forward to it...

How to start? I think I'm afraid of rejection...

just be honest and say i think i'm ready to extend our family, what about u? or just get pregnant and tell him once u are!!
