Question:

How do I talk to my husband about wanting children??

My husband and are young, just purchased our first home and are both in a career. I told him when we got married I wanted to be DONE having children before I was 30. I am now 23 and ready! My bc ends in October but I am afraid that is a little too early for us to start (at least for his sake). He wants to wait another 1 to 2 years. How do I explain to him that I want kids NOW. All I want is to be a mother, it has been my life's dream.

Please help with any advice, and please be mature about it. I am not one of those women who will get pregnant without my husband's consent.

I'm willing to wait another 6 months if he isn't ready right now.

  1. I think this is a good conversation to have when the two of you are alone, you can both sit on the couch together make sure there are no distractions and tell him you want to do a little "family planning".  Ask him to hear you out and tell him how you really feel - don't apologize for it or tone it down, we guys appreciate it when our partners really level with us on important things.

  3. Try to find out why he wants to wait. Is it just for the sake of waiting, or is it a valid reason.

If it is valid then be considerate of his feelings and try to comprimise, if you are willing to...
