Question:

How do I tape my fingers for volleyball?

I injured (jammed) the joint where my index finger meets my hand, and was hoping someone could teach me how to tape the joint for added strength so it doesn't kill when I set or block. Buddy taping alone doesn't do much.

Thanks!

  1. Start taping around your index finger at the top joint. wrap the tape around a few times then join the tape from your index to middle finger. Do the same thing on the bottom part of your index finger and join with the middle. This will help stabilize your index finger until it heals and becomes less sore. If this injury was from blocking, remember block with your palms not your finger tips, you will jam more fingers that way! Hope this helps.

  2. Do you play for high school? If so your trainer should be able to help you out with that. Other than that, I'm not sure. Maybe their is a tutorial video on youtube lol, they have just about everything on there =].

  3. Make sure you are cleared by your doctor... that you can still play. Your doctor should be able to teach you how to tape, and could provide free samples if you ask.

The worst thing you can imagine is to play with injury and hurt it deeper, and cost you more of your volleyball life.
