He misses the bowl half the time. I don't want to tell him to go back to sitting down again. Do other fathers have advice? How did you get your son's to aim better? Would it help if I peed with him a few times to show him how?

  1. tell him to grab a hold of it and tell him to point it into the toilet we did it with a six year old boy and it worked and he has better aim than his father now.

  2. I think you should try directing him...Try doing it through his hips and when he veers off course, re direct him back to his main goal...

  3. im not a guy and this is kinda wierd but a lot of people r saying to put cheerios or somethin they know about in the toilet for them to aim at

  4. ha ha ha  sorry not a father but when my little brother Had problems peeing in the bowl we put cereal in the bowl and had him try to hit the cereal  just put like 10 pieces in there like cornflakes or Cheerios or even fruit loops its fun for him and no mess for us .

  5. Have a contest with him and tell him if he can pee straighter than you into the toilet, you will take him to Toys' r' us and buy him a toy. If you tell him this and buy him a toy, he will never miss the toilet ever again. I am serious about this answer as it worked for my son.

  6. Throw some cheerios in the bowl and tell him to hit them.  You should also show him yourself.

  7. You can buy floating targets for him to hit while he pees. that would make it more of a game and he would focus harder

  8. I'm not a dad, but what we did for all three boys, was used fruit loops!

Drop a few of those in the bowl, and make a game of it. He will have something to keep him occupied, and keep his attention on-task.  That was the biggest problem we found - once they lost track of the task at hand, the walls got it, the towels got it, the floor...

  9. I think you should show hime how. He is young he wont remember it when he is older. I may be a girl but I know that is what I would do. Or try and tell him it is like making a baskey when you play basketball. Aim for the whole. See what will work. good luck

  10. We live in the country, so we took him out to a tree and picked a target, leaf or twig, and said hit it!  Since it was outside, it was less messy.

  11. Put cheerios for froot loops in and when he successfully hits them give him a skittle or a piece of candy corn, they do that on Jon and Kate+8 and that works well I guess.

  12. You need to draw a target just above the waterline at the back of the toilet bowl... a picture of a cat or something.

  13. this might sound crazy but you help me aim you hold his hand with the hand he is peeing and aim or if you do not like it get a seat poddy

  14. put a few cheerios in the toilet (few as in 2 0r 3, you don't want to clog the toilet) place him close enough so that he won't miss and tell him to try to aim at the cheerios. its simple and makes peeing fun. hope this helps.

  15. Have "target practice" with him. You can show him how to stand so that he can aim his urine stream into the toilet. Some parents use things like cereal pieces, toilet paper, as a sort of bull's-eye for the boy to aim at.

  16. wrap the rim of the bowl with aluminum foil. put foil on floor near bowl. Connect wires to the foil and a capacitor, connect the other side of the capcitor to your son with a wire. Charge capacitor. If you do this right, if your son misses the bowl, he will create a circuit that will send a shock up his ureathera. With this kind of motivation he will learn how to aim it, d**n quick!

  17. uhm...me as a kid i remember my dad just telling me to and i did it....dont pee with him cuz him being 5 that could lead to "other" problems if u know what i mean

  18. i think you should bribe him. tell him if he aims it right then you'll give him a cookie or candy or take him out for ice-cream. thats what i would do but  its up to you not me. I'm sorry if it doesn't work.

  19. He knows how- it's the aim he needs practice with.  Use cheep store brand Cheerios- a few in the center of the bowl to use for target practice usually does the trick.  However, even if he has good aim- he may still find distractions a problem.  A lot of little boys go through this stage, where they simple take matters for granted and their mind wanders.  If he can hit the cheerios, then aim is not your problem.  It also helps if he stands closer to the edge, so the stream is aimed close enough not to miss the target.

  20. Put some cherios in the bowl and tell him to aim for the center of the cherio.

  21. Like teach him its fun to aim, and that aiming at the toilet can be a fun game?

  22. Make sure he is on a stool.  Put little pieces of toilet paper in he water, then the game is to sink the paper.

  23. I'm no expert but tell him to draw something in the water. If he has to concentrate on doing something maybe he'll have better aim.

  24. dont get him on sitting again, that willmake it worse. Just  pee with him and trani him to aim better. Tell him to get closser like with bending his knees or something.

  25. Apparently studies have been done and when boys/men have something to aim while they are peeing, their aim is much better.  Here is a website for target you can buy http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/Toi...

or what I did was put a window cling in my toilet.  (the kind that you can buy to decorate your windows with for different holidays)  I put a spider from the halloween set we had and it helped my son and husband aim better!

  26. Use the 'ol Cheerios game. Drop a few Cheerios in the toilet (he should love this) and tell him to try to hit a Cheerio -- especially the inside, open part of it. (It won't matter if he hits ANY part of the Cheerio. The point is it will teach him to AIM.)

In fact, he might not only learn to pee straight into the toilet. He may become great at hand-eye coordination and become a baseball or other sports star!

PS You can also use Fruit Loops. Then he can aim for colors.

  27. I remember when I was a kid my mom would tell me to shoot the bad guys. The bad guys being the bubbles. I found it fun when I was a kid. And then tell him that the flush is the bomb that kills them all. Teaches kids to aim and flush.

  28. one thing that works great in airports is something to aim at....

they paint a little fly on the urinal.  you could drain the bowl and paint something in there where you want him to aim maybe...

make it some kind of a contest or something.  he has to care about the outcome and be paying attention to where the pee is going.  has to be motivated to do that.  maybe you could just throw in a little piece of colored kleenex and have him aim at that...make it a game that is fun and that you participate with him so if he is successful he gets laughing and good connection with you.

  29. Tape a laser pointer to his d**k.

  30. put like a rubber ducky in the bowl on a string and have it float around so he can aim for it in the toilet.

  31. you're gonna love this,  it'll take some googling, go to toilet light gadgets.

man , they have this neon light that goes under the lid, when lifted , a neon target is aimed at the bottom hole !

fun and helpful for those late nights
