How do I tell a friend her breath smells like cheese?

take her aside and gently tell her she has a problem with her breath. she will probably get really upset and defencive but if you have noticed it then other people have done so as well. i think it is kinder in the long run to be honest and straight down the line with her. maybe she has no idea that she has a problem and you drawing her attention to it may give her a kick start in resolving the problem once and for all

don't  say it rude and offer some type of mint or gum to hold the stink down for awhile

You should tell your friend privately as to not embarass him/her. Tell her flat out to use mouthwash because she stinks
