Question:

How do I tell if my contact lens is torn, and if it is, what do I do?

I feel like this is a really dumb question, but I literally just started wearing contacts -- I got them today. It took me forever to take off one of them, and I can see what looks like a little scratch on it. I don't know if it's a scratch or a tear; can I still wear it?

  1. It might not be a scratch at all it could just be a piece of dust or a hair or something, just to make sure that its not a tear take to opposing ends and gentle pull if it opens where you think the tear is its obviously a tear, if not i doubt its a scratch if it was a scratch you would be able to feel the discomfort on your eye, just like a tear.

  2. They usually dont scratch it was probably dirty you can tell by looking at it if is torn. If it has a hole in it, for me it usually irratates my eye. If it tears put in a new one.
