I just want to go to my community college and get my license which takes three and a half years to get. How do i go about telling them cause i know they are going to flip. I have discussed it with ymy parents before but they tell me becoming a nurse is not a good job and when i tell my friend she is always saying you have straight A's and you are lowering your self to become a nurse and how she is going to become a doctor because she is to good to become a nurse! What do i do and i need to tell them soon cause i am going to be a senior in high school as of tommarow?!

  1. We parents are not from another planet, and in most cases we want the best for our children.Dad may be thinking She will earn a darnd sight more as a doc,and MUM something entirely differant, but 5 years down the line, they will still be MUM and DAD, and most of your presant friends will have mooved on,Explain your feelings to MUM&DAD but DONT live your life by what your friends think. GOOD LUCK.

  2. Tell your parents that You want  to be a nurse and tell  that's what makes you happy and tell them don't  they want to see you happy. Also say that I have considered their plans but it's not what I am interested in .By the way you can only be good at a thing when you are interested in.

  3. Just tell them and explain why you made your choice. It is your life and your choice not theirs, no matter if they approve or not.

  4. I would just tell them. They should be proud to have a child with a future, and not a bum laying up in the bedroom with no future.

  5. Just sit them down and tell them that you are going to do what makes you happy. That as you have gone on in your training that you have begun to realize that you would pref ere to be a nurse. I think it is a more personal job, as a nurse you really get to know the patients as the people they are. Doctors usually just see a name and that is it,, they get to the point where they have no feelings about their patients.

  6. tell them how you feel or tell them how they would have fealt when they were children and their parents said they can't be what they wanted to be.

  7. are you sure that you want to be a nurse? if you are then just tell your parents that you wouldn't be able to cope with being a surgeon. they should respect your choice in whatever you want to do

    good luck XD

  8. you just need to explain to them this is what you wanna do with your life and rn make darn good money without all the headaches a dr has.

  9. just do what you want if they love you they wont care...i mean yeahh sure they will be mad..but for like a week or so. no big deal at all its YOUR life not THEIRS

  10. well its pretty much up to you because if you tell your parents what your plans are which is to become a nurse and they get mad then don't even trip about it because they'll forgive you sooner or later and if you do decide to listen to your parents and do what they want you to do then your going to have a miserable college year, a miserable job, and a miserable life whom your going to blame only on your parents because your decided to do what they thought would be good for you and what their dream would be which is for you to become a surgeon. so its up to you and don't worry about the consequences because they'll always love you and support maybe not now but later they will.

  11. You have to tell your parents nursing is what you want.  They can't pick your career, you need to explain that you need their support, and they have to respect the fact that you want to be a nurse.  A nurse is just as successful as a doctor, your parents shouldn't look down on your choice.

  12. OK, heres the deal. Becoming a nurse is hard work, too. Think of it this way. Would you rather be the Queen of England or a head butler? Get my drift? If you have this much support to become a surgeon, I think you will succeed!! Go for it. Don't be afraid to be daring.

  13. Just tell them, i don't see the big deal.

  14. Just sit them down and tell them

  15. usually blunt is better, sort of forcefully say it like its "take it or leave it"

it worked for me and there is less embarrassing moments for you

  16. When you say"I realized how much work it is."

    You are telling yourself

"you want to take the "easy way out."

You want the Gold metal, not the Silver.

You can do this. You are worth it. <}:-})
