I want to get in to skate XC sking. But I cant find any places around here that sell the skate style skis. I have on more place to check. But just so I can tell the difference if I have to buy them on line. I am also on a budget can you suggest a good brand at a cheap price. I need skis, bindings, and boots...

Thanks

  1. Well skate skis are shorter, and they dont have the curl at the tip like classic skis. Also, classic skis might have scales on the bottom. Ummm I just bought a cheaper pair of skate skis last year, they were Atomics, and I got rossignol bindings and boots. The boots were a little pricey because they were combi boots so I could use them for both classic and skate, but I think if you buy them specific to ski ie just skate boots they will be cheaper! Good Luck :)

  2. k2, rosenial some thing like that, burton, roxy

  3. Skate skis are really short when compared to touring or backcountry XC skis. I used to sell touring and BC skis, but not skating skis. I can't give you any good info on them except to check around on various companies websites and maybe see what skis the US XC ski team and the US Biathalon team is using.
