How do I trace my African ancestry?

I tried this when I was in high school, and it was very difficult. So where do I start?

There are many great geneological societies and organisations who do this sort of thing regularly.

Rather than try to do it by yourself, why not see if you can locate a local organisation who does this kind of thing.

They would almost certainly help you overcome the first few hurdles and be able to point you in the right direction.
