How do I track a gps unit?

My daughter went on a road trip with my folks!! I miss her terribly and was hoping I could watch thier travels online!!

The only way you could do it is if the GPS unit was transmitting it's information. Onstar systems are able to track a vehichle in certin suituations (stolen, accident) becuase they can communicate with the GPS reciever built in to the car over wireless.

The ones you buy at your local department store don't have this capability, although they have the option for saving "points" that can then be transferred to the computer and sent over email..or they could write down the position.

Real-time tracking is next to impossible without some kind of subscription service and propritary hardware.
