How do I trade mobile phone messages back and forth using Yahoo Messenger?

I can see messages sent to me, but she can't see the messages I send to her. What do we need to do in order for both of us to both send and receive messages with the other?

She needs to talk to the service provider of her mobile phone, and also verify if her phone can receive messages.
