How do I train for swimming if I can't go to the pool everyday?

Hi I'm 16 and would like to try out for the schools swim team this year but besides training in the pool I would like to know if I can do something outside the pool to improve my chances of being on the team??

  1. Some weight lifting to increase leg, core, and arm strength will be beneficial.  Also, do some long distance jogging.  They'll both be very helpful.


  2. jump off a building and while in midair do swimming moves.

  4. Try going for a ride on your bike to build some stamina, running long distances will also help. Weights don't help much because weights build bulky muscle instead of long lean muscle. core exercises will also help.
