I am re-imaging my computer and want to store files I want to keep on my other PC. I am using a cisco router and want to know how to send approx: 13.5gb of data over my LAN. Links to free software would be greatly appreciated

  1. Determine which computer has enough space to store your files (atleast 13.5GB) by going to My Computer, now Make a folder and share it by right clicking and selecting the Share option. Now note down the IP address of that Computer by Start>Run>Cmd>Ipconfig

Now go to the PC which is having the files you wanna backup.

go to Start>Run and type \\x*x.x*x.x*x.x*x\ Where x*x.x*x.x*x.x*x.is the IP address you noted down from another PC. You will now be able to view the folder you had shared.

double click it and paste all the files or folders needed to be backedup from your PC.

  2. start/my network places...look for pc/folder you want to go to...copy/move whatever files to that folder

  3. Online certification-http://expertrating.net/

  4. we use a network crossover lan cable and setup a folder on a pc, right click on it, properties, then share it across the network. you can then map that as a drive on the other pc on my computer and simply drag and drop. hey presto your done
