How do I transfer PS3 content to a new PS3?

I have a PS3 that I'm giving to a friend as a gift and buying myself a new one, but how do I transfer all the content over to the new one?

External hard drive, and back them up with the ps3 back up option.

If you just want to save your game data use a flash drive.

you cant because one is bigger than the other   i mean the slot for the hard drive

Well you can use an external harddrive and use the backup option on your PS3. Or you can use a flashdrive big enough so you can transfer game saves, movies, music etc.
