How do I transfer a Wordperfect Document to regular old Word?

I am computer illiterate so please explain in dumb people talk.

File/Open.  Look in the "File of type:" box - it's Word documents.  Drop that down and look near the bottom of the list - Word Perfect document types of various vintages.  Choose the correct one, then find the document and open it.

Copy your document in WP and paste it into a new Word document.  I just tried it on my computer and it totally works.  Going from Word to WP does not work!

go to were the document is right click on it with the mouse and hit open with, another box will open up scroll down until it says word and click it to open,

or you can open the doc with word perfect and do a save as. and then at the bottom change the file extension type to .doc
