I'm new to cross stitching and want to use some patterns I found online, but have no idea how to actually transfer that to my canvas. Please help!

  1. You may be looking at the kind where you just follow the picture and count out the squares on blank fabric - it's called counted cross-stitch..  That's the kind I do.  I don't know how to transfer print-outs onto fabric.

  2. So-called stamped cross-stitch things where the pattern is stamped to the canvas can only be professionally made, but basically you can do counted cross-stitch on any canvas you like. The basic rule for that is that each symbol on the chart represents one square on the canvas.

  3. I don't know that you can print onto your fabric after you've downloaded from the internet.  Can't you use - gosh, can't think of the name, but it's something like Hardecker/Hardinger cloth?  This turns your pattern into a counted cross-stitch kit - it's a bit more challenging but I like it better than printed cross-stitch kits.
