I'm about to upgrade my compaq running windows xp hard drive. From 20 gigabytes to 120 gigabytes. I dont have the origonal CD's that came with this computer and definetly dont want to buy windows xp all over agian, and then have to install drivers then transfer files. so my question is, what software (free preffered) can i use to burn all my information to a disc to install into my new drive. i need the disc to be able to boot on its own offcourse and then copy all my information to the new drive, then im hoping i just simply shutdown my computer, pull out the disc and turn my computer back on and it should be running exactly the same, only diff is the extra 100 gigs. (thats how it works im guessing? am i right?). It this isnt possible if anyone can help me with any other way but i only have this laptop an thats it. thanks guys!!
