I have a new computer and I need to upload my iPod music. I already have the latest version of iTunes, but all I can get is the music that I have purchased from the iTunes store. The computer that I used to use is four hours away. How do I transfer my music without using the old computer?

If I must use the old computer then how do I transfer the music?

  1. Use Sharepod and you´ll have no problems. It´s free.

  2. You can try this software to backup songs, videos, photos in iPod to PC, copy iPod songs, videos, photos to new ipod, computer or notebook.

  3. If it's not an iPod touch then you first have to set it to manual and enable disk drive. Then you can go into "My Computer" select your device click tools on the top. Folder options. Then "View". Then in advanced settings in the middle, click "Hidden files and folders". Check "show hidden files and folders". "OK" out of there. then there will be a new folder called "iTunes_Control". Open it. and all your music will be in there. Finally drag and drop into "iTunes"

  4. you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  5. well, i think i can answer your question-

when i went on vacation a few weeks ago and was staying with some friends, i had to charge my ipod, so i used the usb cable that comes with your ipod when you buy it and hooked it up to their computer.  they have itunes on their computer and so when my ipod was hooked up to the computer,on itunes it suddenly showed the entire list of songs that i have on my ipod. so i think that if you hook your ipod up to the new computer and open itunes, your music should automatically transfer to the new computer.
