How do I transfer my DVR recordings (movies etc from the TV) to a dvd disc?

there is an option to record to vcr, but I won't deal with a vcr; once I record from tv to dvr, how do I transfer that to a dvd disc?

The option to record to vcr is just user interface option to make it easy to cue up a recorded show to send to any video recording device (it need not be just a VCR).

The easiest way to do this is to buy a DVD recorder and hook up the audio and video outputs from the DVR to the DVD recorder audio and video inputs.  Hopefully your DVR has two audio/video outputs -- one for your TV and one for your recorder.
