I have an AP calculus movie project and I filmed and edited in Adobe Premiere 4.0, but our final project is due in VHS format. My computer does not have a DVD burner, so the only way I can think of getting it onto a VHS is by recording from my camcorder onto a VHS. However, I need the edited version, what do I do to get the completed movie back onto my camcorder?

  1. I think what the guy means is Export to tape...under ..File. As you say the easiest way of getting it to VHS is through the camcorder.  However you will need to have a camcorder that has DV-in enabled. You could also borrow a DVD Recorder that has an input for the camcorder as most of them do nowadays. Failing that...hook the computer up to another one with a network connection that has a burner on it. Then there's the option of taking the file off to a USB stick and moving to another machine etc. There's always a way to get it off somehow.

    Best of luck.

  2. Edit to tape. I believe you just go to File>Edit to tape, but I'm not sure.

It will render the video, which can then be played. With your camera hooked up you just hit record and then start playing the video in Premiere.
