Question:

How do I transfer my videos to my computer with a Sony Digital Video Camera DCR-TRV280 NTSC using a USB port?

For some reason when I plug it into my Windows XP computer, it doesn't pick up the connection. I also tried using Windows Movie Maker to download from the video camera but it just doesn't detect that I've hooked it up. I turned on the video camera, I've tried everything!

Any suggestions? :/

  1. Alright I have this same camera and have had this issue. First you have to find the picture package CD that came with the camera and insert it into the computer. Once the disk is in the computer and loaded the picture package menu will pop up. Just hit exit when the menu pops up. Then go into my computer and right click on whatever drive the picture package disk is in. On the right click menu hit explorer. That should pull up the contents of the picture package disk. Double click on the driver folder. In the driver folder there is a setup.exe file that you should open. Follow what the setup wizard says to install the driver and you should be good to go. The next time you plug your camera in your computer should recognize it.

Also here's the link to my 4shared account in which i have put the entire driver folder in case you don't have the picture package disk. http://www.4shared.com/dir/8321779/58c81...
