How do I transfer traffic ticket to the city/county I reside in?

I got a speeding ticket in Kern county, CA about a month ago and I live in Los Angeles county. The officer who gave me the ticket said I can have the ticket transferred to the city/county I reside in. I called the court to have my ticket transferred, however, they told me I can have it transferred but they can't tell me how.

So how do I get my traffic ticket transferred to the city/county I currently reside in? Do I need to hire a lawyer?

  1. Why not just spare yourself the hassle and cost of an attorney, and just take care of it in Kern Co.? You obviously found yourself in that county once, why not just return to the same county and take care of it? You'll save yourself alot of headaches and grief.
