How do I transfer video from my Sony Premium Digital Video Cassette to my computer?

It's a Dell, and has Windows Vista, if that makes any difference.

Since you did not tell us which camcorder, we can only guess that it is either MiniDV tape or Digital8 tape. Both camcorders use the same method - firewire (not USB).

If your computer does not have a firewire400 port, hopefully it has an expansion slot so you can add one.

Since you did not tell us what computer you are using, we have no way to know if it has a firewire port or an expansion slot. USB is not supported for digital video transfer.
