  1. You can do this in one of 2 ways.  You can do this using the Slingbox.  One of these slingboxes will work: Pro, Solo, or A/V.  The Solo and A/V let you control one device.  I think that if you are going to buy a slingbox, I would just go ahead and buy the Slingbox Pro.  Hook the DVD player up to it.  Then you will need to pickup the movie from your DVD player with a computer.  You would then need to connect the computer to a TV with preferably a HDMI, VGA, or DVI cable, which ever one you can do.  HDMI would be the most preferrable.  Of course there is s-video, but the picture quality really sucks with that.

The other option like the other answer says is to buy the HP Media Smart TV.  You can find that here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...  It has built in ethernet and wifi.

You can use the slingbox for more than just what you want to do.  You can bring your laptop with you to the airport or hotel room that has wifi and watch your home TV right on your computer.  The slingbox pro is the only slingbox that lets you hookup multiple devices.  You can hookup your cable or satellite service to the slingbox as well as that DVD player.

  2. You either need a TV with built-in media extender (such a sthe HP Mediasmart TV) or a digital media receiver or extender to connect to your TV.
