Question:

How do I transport a full engine?

If I bought a 454 engine with or without a tranny, on or not on a stand... How am I supposed to get it home without professional help????

  1. Drain the fluids and load it into a pick up.


  2. Make a cradle on a pallet> as it weights quite a lot>

  3. Ya the best way is to strap it to a wooden pallet. Then scoop it up with a forklift...  or four big dudes.

    Or you can rent a 3/4 ton truck with a 'lift-gate' instead of a tailgate. Lower the lift-gate, slide the pallet on, raise the lift-gate, slide the pallet forward.

    Some trucks even have engine winches welded to the box. Borrow one or rent one if you can...

    I ordered mine from Japan and when it finally got here, Canadian Freightways was nice enough to drop it off in front of my house.
