I want to go from London to Draguignan, France, on Thursday 21 August 2008 and travel from there to Pisa, Italy on Saturday 23 August 2008. It's rail or air - I don't drive. Les Arcs is the nearest big station. Nice is the nearest big airport.

  1. Easyjet has budget flights from Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted to Nice. AirBerlin has budget flights from Stansted to Nice. Easyjet has flights from all three available on the 21st - the cheapest right now is Stansted. http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp... The train from Nice to Les Arcs Draguignan takes between an hour and an hour and a half depending on the specific train.

From Les Arcs Draguignan, you can take the train to Pisa. You'll need to change at least twice in either Nice or Ventimiglia and in Genova. The total travel time will be at least 8 hours. You can use this site to check specific schedules: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights between Nice and Pisa. You could connect through Rome on Alitalia in about 3 hours, but with short notice it will be expensive. Another option would be to go to Paris and try a budget flight from Orly on Easyjet to Pisa. There are morning flights from Nice to Paris Orly at 8:05 am or 10:30 am that will allow you to the 3:10 pm flight from there which arrives in Pisa at 4:40 pm.
