How do I travel from Quetzaltenango to San Cristobal de las Casas?

Question

I'll be spending a month in Xela in May and would like to take a weekend trip to San Cristobal de las Casas. I'm looking for any information (bus routes, van companies, whatever) on how to accomplish this. Thanks!

Wow, they are over 700 miles apart...about a 16 hr bus trip. And , you will probably need to got thru Mexico City.  You will probably need to a lot more than just a weekend for this trip.  ADO goes from mexico City to Sna Cristobal..see 1st site below.  i cannot find a bus line that lists a route from Quetzaltenango to Mexico city...just from Acapulco to Mexico City. you my want to explore this sime more...see list of many bus companies on Larpman's site below.  Good Luck.

Great question! These are two of my favorite places,but in all the years I have been traveling I have never traveled between the two so I don't really know....but someone that can give you credible information is Tom at the Xela pages.If you will post the question on the "Guatemala Travel" forum there you should have an accurate answer in day or two.Tom usually waits a a few days for someone to answer and if no one does he will answer it himself.He also checks all questions answered by others for accuracy.I want to know too so I'll also watch the forum for the answer.(click on 'forums' near the top on the left side)
