Question:

How do I truly confirm that my text message got sent?

I often send text messages using my Samsung M300. My service provider is Sprint. Sometimes, I become very dubious as to whether or not my message truly got sent. For example, I have a friend who always, always responds immediately to texts. Sometimes I'll be in the middle of texting her, and I'll send a message, and she just won't respond. So I send another one, and she responds. However, my phone states that my former message was sent. And this happens with other people too--I'll be in the middle of a conversation with them, and sometimes they just won't respond, not because they were busy, distracted, or that their phone was out of signal. The bottom line is---I feel that sometimes some of my messages just don't carry through to its receiver. Either that---or my phone just sometimes doesn't receive texts. Is there a way that I can make SURE SURE that my messages get sent, or if my phone is being a jerk and not receiving messages, (occasionally)??

  1. um, get a response? if someone doesnt return ur txt and both got sent, they were probably busy, but replied to the second one to keep u from resending again.

  3. There is no way to really be 100% sure, short of receiving a reply or asking someone directly later.

I've had people ask me about texts they sent me that I never got, and one time someone I sent about 3 texts to didn't get them until a week later since she was out of the country and her phone was dead.

My advice if you're in doubt about it and you urgently need to be in touch with someone would be to call and speak to them directly. Or get in touch with them through email or IM or something.
