Question:

How do I turn a .avi file into a VCD/DVD that I watch with a DVD player?

I'm trying to burn some Pokemon movies into DVD/VCD's for my little brother's birthday since I'm broke..

I have absolutely no idea where to start.

First of all do I need a blank CD-R or DVD?

Do I need a special program or just the Windows writing program?

Do I need an external burner or will my DVD and CD drive on my hard drive do fine?

If someone could instruct me to do this I'd be very grateful

Thank you

  10. I was doing some of this work the other day.  WindowVista will allow certain DVD disks to be Mastered.  That is to make it readable on most conventional DVD players.

Disk formats: like Divx doesn't work on a DVD player.  The stock Windows writing programs will acknowledge any copyright instructions on DVDs.  On the other hand there are things like DVD decrypter.  Works great.  Then you need a program that can allow you to edit your video files.  Well, that's as far as I got.  Good luck.
