Question:

How do I turn a stand alone bathtub into a shower?

We live in an old house and have an old stand alone bathtub. We do have a shower, but the floor around it needs to be re-done so we'd like to use it as little as possible. The bad thing is we have a panel ceiling so hooking anything to it might be hard. Is there anything we can do to attach to the bathtub to route water up to make into a shower? Or something to hang a curtain around that doesnt have to hook to the ceiling? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything. Thanks!

  1. You need to get a plumber to move the bathtub over to the shower area. Otherwise simply get a long shower hose and attach a hook to the wall near the rim of the bathtub.

BTW I have seen retrofitted showers/bathtubs in the hardware store which do not attach to the ceiling - the structure assembles into a free standing unit. Enquire at your local hardware store.
