Question:

How do I turn off a calculator without an OFF button?

I have this calculator without an OFF button.

It's a solar-powered calculator, so it will eventually turn off if I cover it for 6 minutes, but that's just wasting my batteries.

So does anyone know what I should do? Does anyone have this type of calculator, and if you do, what do you do?

I've tried all the obvious options like:

- pressing [SHIFT] or [2nd] then ON, or AC...etc

- pressing several buttons at once

if someone can give me a good answer, that would be great. thanks..

  1. Here's what i found out one day.

Some calculators can be turned off by holding in 9 and 8 and then without letting go press the ON button. If this doesn't work I also found out that others can be turned off by holding in MULTIPLY and DIVIDE and then pressing ON. I found this out one day when I was bored in school. However, this doesnt work for all calculators. I hope this helps.
