The light is on all the time. Is there a way to turn it off and still drive the bike? I turned the ignition switch all the way to the right and the whole bike turns off.

  1. On motorcycles, the headlight has to be on all the time (the law).

They make it leave it on for safety.

You can install a switch - but why?

    Good Luck...

  2. wire cutters

  3. This is a factory design.  I believe in each state, it is requirement to burn your headlights the entire time.  Other than your ignition in OFF or PARK (if you have park), the only time your head light should not come on is when you have not started your bike's engine since you turned the key to on (this helps you save battery power and makes it easier to start your engine since the starter motor uses a lot of power.

If you REALLY want to be able to turn the head light off, study your wiring and install a switch but if you are caught, that means a ticket.
