How do I turn off the sound on Windows when I click a folder or icon and it makes a click noise?

  1. Try this (Windows XP):

    1. Click Start->Control Panel.

    2. Click the Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices item.

    3. Click Change the Sound Scheme.

    4. In the Program Events list box, scroll down to the Windows Explorer section and select Start Navigation.

    5. In the Sounds list box, scroll up and select (None).

    6. Click OK.

    That should do it.


  2. just disable all the stupid sounds windows makes, go to start>control panel>sound, speech, and audio devices>sound and audio devices>sounds tab>choose windows and the select from the dropdown menu "no sounds"...say no if it asks you to save ur previous sound scheme
