How do I un-jam my finger?

I jammed it yesterday playing basketball. It doesn't look jammed but it feels like it is. It is on my right ring finger, and it's the joint closest to my fingernail.

  1. ice it.

  2. Put it in a splint and it will heal itself.  Just tape it to another one of your fingers so it can't move too much.  It's too late to ice it, but using heat-then-ice repeatedly will help the blood circulation to your finger and help it heal faster.

If you think it's still dislocated, you should go see a doctor and they can put it back correctly.

  3. you don't

  4. You don't really. I did the same thing to my thumb a little while ago, I couldn't even bend it for a week... And it was so swollen I went to the ER, the only thing that they could do since it wasn't broken, i just had to ice it and wear it in a splint for a week, they said if i still couldn't move it in 5 to 7 days, to go back... So, If I were you I would probably tape it to your middle finger, and then ice 15 min on and 15 min off, alternating...

Good Luck and hope this helped!

  5. pull on it, or go see a doctor.
