How do I unclog a toilet?

I went to the bathroom and the toilet is now clogged. I don't want to tell my parents. How can I unclog it on my own?

Just tell them because once when I was little I tried to unclog a tiolet and it flooded out everywhere and made a mess and my parents were mad and were like "you should have told us"
